Pepper Potts: Is this about the Avengers? Which I know nothing about.

Tony Stark: The Avengers initiative was scrapped, I thought. And I didn't even qualify.

Potts: I didn't know that either.

Stark: Apparently I'm volatile, self-obsessed, and don't play well with others.

Potts: That I did know.

Loki: I am Loki, of Asgard. And I am burdened with glorious purpose.

Selvig: Loki, brother of Thor.

Nick Fury: We have no quarrel with your people.

Loki: An ant has no quarrel with a boot.

Nick Fury: You planning to step on us?

Loki: I come with glad tidings. Of a world made free.

Nick Fury: Free from what?

Loki: Freedom. Freedom is life's great lie. Once you accept that, in your heart... [taps Selvig with the spear] you will know peace.

Nick Fury: Yeah, you say peace. I kinda think you mean the other thing.

Loki: [To crowd] Kneel before me. I said... kneel! Is not this simpler? Is this not your natural state? It's the unspoken truth of humanity that you crave subjugation. The bright lure of freedom diminishes your life's joy in a mad scramble for power. For identity. You were made to be ruled. In the end, you will always kneel.

Old German: [Stands] Not to men like you.

Loki: There are no men like me.

Old German: There are always men like you.

Loki: Look to your elder, people. Let him be an example. (Loki prepares to kill the man with his staff, but Steve Rogers saves the old man)

Steve Rogers/Captain America: You know, the last time I was in Germany, and I saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing.

Loki: The soldier. [laughs] A man out of time.

Rogers: I'm not the one who's out of time.

Rogers: Stark, we need a plan of attack!

Stark: I have a plan: Attack!

Romanov: I'd sit this one out, Cap.

Rogers: I don't see how I can.

Romanov: These men come from legend. They're basically gods.

Rogers: There is only one God, ma'am. And I'm pretty sure He doesn't dress like that!

Thor: [Throws Loki on the ground] Where is the Tesseract?!

Loki: [laughs] Oh, I missed you, too!

Thor: Do I look to be in a gaming mood?

Loki: [groans] Oh, you should thank me. With the Bifrost gone, how much dark energy did the Allfather have to muster to conjure you here? Your precious Earth.

Thor: [drops Mjolnir then grabs Loki] I thought you dead.

Loki: Did you mourn?

Thor: We all did. Our Father-

Loki: Your father. [shoves Thor] He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?

Thor: We were raised together! We played together! We fought together! Do you remember none of that?!

Loki: I remember a shadow. Living in the shade of your greatness. I remember you tossing me into an abyss. I who was, and should be, king!

Thor: So, you take the world I love as recompense for your imagined slights? No. The Earth is under my protection, Loki!

Loki: [laughs] And you're doing a marvelous job with that. The humans slaughter each other in droves while you idly fret. I mean to rule them! And why should I not?

Thor: You think yourself above them?

Loki: Well, yes.

Thor: Then you miss the truth of ruling, Brother. A throne would suit you ill.

Loki: [growls] I've seen worlds you've never known about! I have grown, Odinson, in my exile! I have seen the true power of the Tesseract, and when I wield it-

Thor: Who showed you this power? Who controls the would-be king?!

Loki: I am a king!

Thor: Not here! You give up the Tesseract; you give up this poisonous dream! You come home.

Loki: [smirks] I don't have it. [Thor raises the hammer] You need the cube to bring me home, but I've sent it off, I know not where.

Thor: Listen well, Brother. I-

[Iron Man knocks Thor off the cliffside]

Loki: I'm listening.

Thor: Do not touch me again.

Stark: Then don't take my stuff.

Thor: You have no idea what you're dealing with.

Stark: [Looks at the surrounding trees] Uh, Shakespeare in the Park? [About Thor's cape] Doth Mother know you weareth her drapes?

Thor: This doesn't concern you, metal man. Loki will face Asgardian justice.

Stark: He gives up the cube, he's all yours. Until then ... [Closes his helmet] stay out of the way. [Under his breath] Tourist.

Nick Fury: [Loki is sealed in the cell, Nick Fury shows the function to dump it from the helicarrier] In case you try to escape. If you so much as scratch that glass... [chute opens beneath the cell] Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works? [Gestures to Loki] Ant. [Gestures to console] Boot.

Loki: It is an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me.

Nick Fury: Built for something a lot stronger than you.

Loki: Oh, I've heard. The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you? That you call on such lost creatures to defend you?

Nick Fury: How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war, you steal a force you can't hope to control, you talk about peace, and you kill 'cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did.

Loki: Ooh. It burns you to have come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power. Unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share? And then to be reminded what real power is.

Nick Fury: Well, let me know if 'real power' wants a magazine or something.

Rogers: Loki's going to drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?

Thor: Loki has an army, called the Chitauri. They are not of Asgard or any other world known. They will win him the Earth, in return, I suspect, for the Tessaract.

Rogers: An army... from outer space.

Banner: So, he's building another portal. That's what he needs Dr. Eric Selvig for.

Thor: Selvig?

Banner: He's an astrophysicist.

Thor: He's a friend.

Romanov: Loki has him under some kind of spell. Along with one of ours.

Rogers: I want to know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here.

Banner: I don't think we should be focused on Loki. The guy's mind is a bag of cats. You can smell crazy on him.

Thor: Have care how you speak. Loki may be beyond reason, but he is of Asgard. And he is my brother.

Romanov: He killed eighty people in two days.

Thor: ...He is adopted.

Rogers: We have orders. We should follow them.

Stark: Following's not really my style.

Rogers: And you're all about style, aren't you?

Stark: Of the people in this room, which one is A) wearing a spangly outfit; and B) not of use?

Rogers: Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?

Stark: Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.

Rogers: I know guys with none of that worth ten of you. I've seen the footage; you fight for nobody but yourself. You're not the kind to make the sacrifice play, to lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.

Stark: I think I would just cut the wire.

Rogers: Always a way out. You know, you may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero.

Stark: A hero? Like you? You're a laboratory experiment, Rogers. Everything that's special about you came out of a bottle.

Cara mudah belajar bahasa Inggris – Kali ini, kita akan kembali meningkatkan kemampuan greeting atau sapaan dalam berbicara bahasa Inggris. Jika di tutorial pertama saya telah membagi tips bagaimana melakukan greeting saat bertemu seseorang, maka kita akan mempelajari hal yang lebih kompleks lagi mengenai teknik greeting saat percakapan akan dimulai. 

Sebagian besar dari kita selalu melakukan sapaan ketika akan memulai percakapan seperti dengan berjabat tangan, menanyakan kabar, atau memberikan canda. Nah, teknik ini disebut dengan greeting before conversation yang digunakan ketika anda ingin memulai sebuah percakapan dengan orang lain. Pria terkadang menjabat tangan dan di luar negeri biasanya mereka menyentuh kepala (untuk teman akrab). Sedangkan wanita, cara greeting dari gerak tubuhnya adalah cium pipi kanan dan cium pipi kiri atau bersalaman.

Teknik dan tips melakukan greeting sebelum percakapan

1. Berdiri di dekat orang yang ingin diajak bicara dan mengatakan “hello”.
2. Ekspresikan kebahagiaan ketika bertemu dengan seseorang tersebut. Misalkan, nice to see you, atau good to see you.
3. Ajukan beberapa pertanyaan ketika kalian ingin memulai sebuah percakapan. Misalkan, how are you?, what’s new?, atau how are things?

Praktikkan dengan teman melalui aturan berikut

1. Buatlah percakapan dengan dua orang teman.
2. Tambahkan gangguan tak terduga ketika percakapan berlangsung (dipanggil, pelajaran dimulai, atau salah seorang teman menjatuhkan sesuatu).
3. Buatlah dialog yang pendek terlebihdahulu, kemudian tingkatkan panjang kalimatnya.
4. Libatkan guru dalam dialog sehingga kalian lebih nyaman dan percaya diri.
5. Tukarkan dialog masing masing kelompok dan terapkan di depan kelas.

Dasar-dasar greeting (salam atau sapaan) dalam bahasa Inggris

Cara mudah belajar bahasa Inggris - Dalam berbahasa, kita pasti menemukan sapaan, salam, atau sebuah tanda pertemuan ketika bertemu dengan seseorang baik yang tidak kita kenal ataupun yang telah kita kenal. Juga, dalam bahasa Inggris pun seperti itu, di sana salam atau sapaan disebut sebagai greeting. Secara umum, greeting dalam bahasa Inggris merupakan perkataan atau tindakan menyapa seseorang. Sebagai contoh, “hello, good morning, good afternoon, dan good evening”. Greeting merupakan salah satu budaya dan elemen berbicara yang penting jika kalian ingin mempelajari bahasa Inggris.

Ada banyak tipe greeting di dalam bahasa Inggris. Seperti dalam bahasa Indonesia, teman-teman akan mengucapkan halo atau disebut hello ketika bertemu dengan seseorang, memulai sebuah percakapan, berkenalan dengan tetangga baru, dan masih banyak lagi. Berikut beberapa jenis greeting yang ada di dalam bahasa Inggris.

Greeting ketika bertemu dengan seseorang

Ketika bertemu seseorang, teman-teman harus berlaku sopan dengan terlebih dahulu menyambut mereka. Ucapkan kata “hello” dan lakukan sambil tersenyum merupakan solusi tepat dalam situasi yang satu ini. Jika kita bertemu orang yang sama dalam beberapa waktu, maka senyuman sudah cukup dalam kategori greeting.

Lakukan sapaan dengan berjalan pelan namun kalian tidak perlu berhenti berjalan ketika melakukannya. Cobalah praktikkan dengan teman satu kelas atau siapapun yang bersedia.  Beberapa ucapan greeting adalah sebagai berikut:

*Native spakers atau pembicara asli kebanyakan memperpendek “going” menjadi “goin”. Mungkin ini sama dengan kita yang memperpendek “apa kabar?” menjadi “pa kabar?”

Slang greeting atau bahasa gaul ketika bertemu dengan seseorang

Gunakan bahasa sapaan yang gaul atau slang ketika kalian menyapa teman dekat. Para remaja di barat sama dengan para remaja di Indonesia yang menyapa temannya dengan kata-kata “pa kabar lo?, lagi ngapain bro?, atau lo mo kemana?” nah, kalian sering bukan menyapa teman dengan perkataan seperti itu? dan diyakini bahwa sapaan yang akrab tersebut hanya digunakan untuk teman-teman dekat saja.

Begitu juga dengan remaja di Amerika Serikat sana, dan beberapa contoh greeting yang gaul adalah sebagai berikut.

Belajar Bahasa Inggris

Ada banyak manfaat yang bisa kita dapatkan jika kita mampu menguasai bahasa Inggris. Ini adalah daftar dari manfaat belajar bahasa Inggris sementara menurut sepengetahuanku:

1. Mendongkrak Nilai/IPK
   Bagi yang masih duduk dibangku sekolah ataupun kuliah, mata pelajar atau mata kuliah bahasa Inggris selalu ada. Bahkan sekarang siswa SD pun sudah diberi mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Kalau kamu yang masih duduk di bangku sekolah, Jika mampu menguasai bahasa Inggris, tentu akan mendongkrak nilai raport atau IPK kamu.
2. Menambah Daftar atau Koleksi Prestasi
   Selain itu, kamu yang masih dalam masa studi, jika kemampuan bahasa Inggris kamu bagus, kamu bisa ditunjuk sekolahmu sebagai delegasi untuk mengikuti lomba seperti lomba pidato bahasa Inggris, lomba debate bahasa Inggris, menulis essay/karya tulis berbahasa Inggris dll. Jika kamu menang tentu akan menambah torehan prestasi kamu dan tentu akan menambah poin plus jika kamu menuliskan daftar prestasi di Curriculum Vitae (CV) kamu. Orang tua bangga, pacar bangga, yang pasti kamu juga.
3. Menambah Uang Saku Saat pada Masa Studi
   Banyak yang pada saat kuliah mencari tambahan penghasilan untuk membiayai kuliahnya. Jika bahasa Inggris kamu bagus, bahasa Inggris bisa menjadi salah satu alternative untuk menambah pundi-pundi saku kamu. Bisa dengan membuka les privat, atau mendaftar menjadi tentor di lembaga kursus di tempat sekitar kamu tinggal, atau bisa juga menjadi guide untuk jasa travel touris manca negara, bisa juga menjadi penerjemah buku-buku bahasa Inggris yang sesuai dengan bidang yang sedang kamu geluti.
4. Syarat Mutlak Mendapatkan Bea Siswa ke Luar Negeri.
   Siapa sih yang tidak ingin belajar di luar negeri? hampir semua pasti ingin. Selain biaya studi gratis, kita masih dapat uang saku banyak. Hanya saja ada syarat mutlak yang harus kita miliki, yaitu penguasaan bahasa Inggris. Parameternya biasanya adalah score TOEFL. Tidak sedikit yang ingin kuliah ke luar negeri tapi terganjal persyaratan ini. Nah ada baiknya kamu score TOEFL dengan mengerjakan soal TOEFL di bawah ini:

5. Salah satu Materi Ujian PNS.
   Banyak orang yang mendambakan untuk menjadi PNS. Di Indonesia, PNS masih menjadi favorit nomor 1 bagi para pencari kerja. Sebenarnya lowongan pekerjaan selain PNS pun banyak yang mensyaratkan bisa bahasa Inggris. so, jika ingin sukses mengerjakan soal-soal PNS, salah satunya kamu musti bisa bahasa Inggris.
6. Membantu Menguasai Teknologi.
   Teknologi sudah tidak dapat dihindari lagi. Orang yang ingin menang dalam kompetisi dunia harus menguasai teknologi. Namun, perangkat keras maupun lunak sekarang 80% menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Contoh kecil, ketika kita ingin menginstal software di komputer kita, instruksinya menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Mungkin secara umum, cara menginstal software/aplikasi hampir sama, tinggal next dan next. Tapi tidak jarang kemudian timbul error dan ada pesan dengan redaksi bahasa Inggris. Jika dikantor hanya kamu yang bisa menguasai bahasa Inggris, tentu kamulah yang jadi andalan.
7. Membantu Memecahkan Masalah.
   Ini berangkat dari pengalaman saya. Sering kita menjumpai permasalahan yang berujung pada bertanya pada prof. Google. Kita berharap banyak artikel yang bisa membantu atau memberikan informasi untuk memecahkan masalah kita. Tapi tidak jarang artikel bahasa ibu (red: Indonesia) tidak dapat menjawab dengan tuntas. Maka kita perlu mencarinya di artikel-artikel berbahasa Inggris. Bukan under estimate sama orang Indonesia, tapi negara barat, terutama negara maju, keilmuannya selangkah atau berlangkah-langkah lebih maju daripada orang kita.

Itu adalah manfaat belajar english sementara yang bisa di uraikan di sini. Mungkin teman-teman masih ada yang berpendapat lebih, bisa ditambahkan di kolom komment untuk saya masukkan ke dalam postingan. Sehingga akan semakin memberikan motivasi kepada kita dan semua orang Indonesia untuk belajar bahasa Inggris dengan lebih semangat.

JANAKI : Now, don't shout, dear. I didn't say I will come here every day; I said I want to come here.

SURENDRA : Let's not argue any more. Let's quickly do the shopping and go home. The children must be getting impatient.

JANAKI : OK, here's the shopping list. We'll first buy toiletries and groceries and then go to the vegetable stall.

CUSTOMER : I rather fancy those blue ones with red stripes.

Dialog Bahasa Inggris Tentang Liburan

Contoh dialog bahasa Inggris tentang liburan ini ditulis untuk sobat sobit semua yang sedang mengerjakan tugas bahasa Inggris tentang Liburan / holiday. Seperti halnya tugas membuat percakapan bahasa Inggris lainnya, tugas sekolah ini biasanya menjadi tugas kelompok, minimal dua orang. Materi bahasa Inggris tentang liburan ini identik dengan tugas menulis recount text, artinya atau biasanya, siswa disuruh membuat tugas kelompok sekaligus tugas individual, yaitu, writing : recount text, dan speaking : holiday.

Sebagai siswa yang baik, sudah seharusnya kita menuruti tugas guru bahasa Inggris kita, meski saya masih belum yakin apakah guru kita ini bisa menceritakan liburannya dengan gaya tulisan recount yang lebih keren :) daripada kita semua sebagai siswanya. Ah, sudahlah jangan berburuk sangka kepada guru kita, mari kita lanjut saja dengan melihat contoh percakapan / dialog bahasa Inggris tetang liburan di bawah ini :

Contoh Dialog 1 : Percakapan Terjadi Setelah Liburan

Uya : Hi Ayu

Ayu : Hi

Uya : I've heard you went to Bali again, is it true?

Ayu : (Ayu smiles)

Uya : Oh my God, I really want to go to Bali, it's a great place I've never slept in.

Uya : Anyway, I know you had visited Bali many times, did you still enjoy it?

Ayu : Yeah, I still enjoy it, especially when watching men playing football on the beach.. bhahahhaa

Uya : While lying on the sand half nak**, huh? (Uya smirks)

Ayu : Oh no, I am Indonesian. I don't want our ancestors rise from their tomb and look at one of our beaches in summer, they would probably shake their head with incredulity.

Uya : I see. I am just kidding.

Ayu : Nevermind. Anyway, when will you go there?

Uya : I don't know, I am still busy with my business.

Ayu : I do hope we will see you in Bali next vacation.

Uya : I do hope so.

Ayu : I have to go right now. (while walking away from Uya)

Uya : Oh, nice to meet you Ayu. (while screaming)

Ayu : (Looking back and blinking her eye to Uya).

Contoh Dialog 2 : Percakapan Terjadi Sebelum Liburan

Ayu : Do you really want to go to Bromo?

Uya : Yeah, my boss has given me a break.

Ayu : Why don't you visit Bali? You wanna go there, don't you?

Uya : Yes I really want to go there... (Uya stops talking, he thinks something)

Ayu : Hey.. What are you thinking about?

Uya : Sorry, I just don't wanna go to Bali, except...

Ayu : Except what? You said you want to go there... this is your right time.

Uya : No, no, it aint my right time. Bromo is as beautiful as Bali, isn't it?

Ayu : Yes, Bromo is. You always talk about Bali, I think Bali is your favorite place.

Uya : Hmm.. You're right, Bali is my favorite place. But I don't wanna go there right now, because...

Ayu : Because of what. . . 

Uya : Because I don't wanna go to Bali without you...

Ayu : (Silent, looking at Uya's eyes)

Uya : I don't wanna go to Bali without you, Ayu.

Ayu : (Keep silent, smiling)

Saya kira cukup untuk percakapan bahasa Inggris tentang Liburan ini. Meski terkesan sangat aneh, setidaknya contoh tersebut bisa menjadi inspirasi sobat sobit semua yang sedang mengerjakan tugas membuat percakapan sendiri. (Jika ada kesalahan, mohon dikoreksi ya?)

Saya, jujur saja, belum bisa membuat contoh percakapan bahasa Inggris 7 orang. Mungkin pikiran saya belum bisa membayangkan apa saja yang dibicarakan oleh banyak orang. Jadi mohon maaf saja, bagi sobat sobit yang meminta percakapan / dialog bahasa Inggris yang lebih dari 2 orang, seperti 3, 4, 5, 6, dan 7 orang, saya belum bisa mewujudkannya. Meskipun percakapan berbahasa Inggris ini tidak diperankan oleh 4 orang (karena umumnya 2 orang), setidaknya ada ekspresi lain dari contoh percakapan ini. Biasanya, contoh percakapan di hotel berkutat pada making reservation, check-in, dan check-out, namun contoh percakapan bahasa Inggris di hotel yang akan ditampilkan di bawah ini hanya tentang making reservation saja. Tapi jangan khawatir, toh contoh ini bisa mungkin lebih ekspresif dari contoh-contoh lainnya.

Umumnya, percakapan bahasa Inggris di hotel tidak banyak perdebatan, alias lancar-lancar saja. Namun, pada contoh di atas ada perdebatan (meski tidak sekeras debat calon presiden / gubernur) yang bisa menjadikan percakapan ini menarik.
